If you are anywhere near this restaurant make it a priority to stop and eat. It was difficult picking from their menu but I settled on a steak bowl and WOW!! Each bite was filled with amazing flavor. I wish I lived closer so I could work my way thru the menu. Our server was Isabella and she was amazing. Greated us and was pleasant to work with. She checked on us throughout our meal and had drink refills before we were dry. The owner Casey came to our table to see how our meal was and if we needed anything else. Haven't seen this for awhile. This atmosphere here is inviting and relaxing. When I turned to leave I was surprised the restaurant was full.
We drove over two hours to try this restaurant and boy were we not disappointed! We had a decent sized group (7), and we had excellent service. I ordered an Old Fashioned from the bar and it's possibly one of the best i've ever had. I got the pork chop, smashed potatoes, and charred Brussels sprouts. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and delicious. The Sprouts had a little too much vinegar for my liking, but my wife loved them. The atmosphere is really cool, and we cant wait to get a chance to come back!
We stopped in for dinner at Home Town Roots and had an amazing experience from start to finish. We began with drinks at the bar — the gin and tonic was perfectly balanced, and the wine selection was absolutely spectacular. For dinner, we tried the salmon patties with loaded mashed potatoes, and I honestly didn’t know that combination could taste that good. The salmon patties were phenomenal — tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We also had the fried catfish served with balsamic-glazed Brussels sprouts and French fries, and I can confidently say the catfish was as good as any I’ve had throughout the South. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with everyone in great spirits. A special shout-out to Jax and Austin behind the bar — they were attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. This is a gem for our community — a place I’d absolutely recommend to anyone looking for excellent food, great service, and a comfortable, hometown vibe. Ok
My first time here, and I must say I'm very impressed! We got seated and waited on withing 5 minutes, and the place was full of customers! Our order came quickly and our waitress was great! She kept our drinks full and our table cleaned as we finished up our plates. You get large portions so you won't leave hungry! But leave some room for desert, as the have some great banana pudding! As well as other choices to pick from! It is family friendly! Has very clean bathrooms! Is located next to the river, and has some beautiful views down there! Well worth the trip we made here!
We had a delectable meal at Hometown Roots last night! I had the shrimp civeche with their homemade chips. The shrimp dish was so refreshing and I loved the herbs added to it. Our server was the BEST! He was a jolly guy with a beaming personality and kept our drinks filled, and attended to our every need! I wish I had asked him his name. (We told him about a different restaurant and the bad experience we had there) My husband and I took the key lime dessert home. It was a very special dessert! I’ve never had any key lime dessert that was this great! The attention to detail on the dessert was impressive. Even the mint leaf had edible gold on it. Simply amazing!! Hometown Roots, you have it all!!
The food is great! Love the fried chicken, brussel sprouts, shrimps and grits. Our host Victoria is super friendly, gives us best recommendations and really passionate about helping us. Thank you
After a six hour drive from Atlanta, this place really hit the spot! Can't recommend enough if you're in the area, and worth the trip if you're not! The cornbread at the table is to die for and the pimento cheese fritters are amazing! Be sure to try the southern steak bowl too!
This restaurant is fantastic. Eclectic choices I chose turkey and dumplings it was off the charts delicious. I'm traveling so I don't live close to this restaurant, but if I did I'd eat here once a week!!
